Blogs for the college students
Posted on 11th August 2007 by TaggyYes NIT-Trichy follows the big league.Now students have their own blogs from the college .
Its great to see that we are one of the first in the country to offer blog space for students.Other big universities that offer student blogs are Stanford and harvard .
It comes with a lot of aniticipation and also interesting how the content in the blogs will be monitored.No matter how much of freedom is given ,content on a institute sponsored site has to be monitored and i wonder how delta will rise up to this challenge .In the meantime enjoy http://delta.nitt.edu/blogs and btw these blogs have just been released and will be online soon :-) .NITT is undergoing a sea change here ,what with paying fees is just a click on the ATM machine.No more filling up chalans,waiting in Q and what not .

whoa. cool, man!
That is cool! In my college, it is almost a crime to have a blog. And even worse when you write about the college.
Dei, do put the link when it comes online. Hope it comes online, else there is no use. Also, try to link the blogs of alumni’s. It will be more of a network. I have a lot of feeds of nittians, we’ll make a pool.
Ya, we are going to have it online. But the authentication is going through LDAP, so I dont think alumni will be able to blog on it. But we will definitely link them up. :)
@Abhishek
Alumni needn’t blog on it. You can have a facility wherein the alumni can just add their rss feeds over there. That can be also done for the students. Most of the current NITTians have their blogs either in blogger or wordpress. So there is no point in giving another interface to (write) blog in college site (which may increase the load too). If they could just add their RSS feeds with a nice template of their choice, it would be great. Their blog would be reflected in institute and their homepage as well. And they could put a button saying “My blog is listed in blogs.nitt.edu” :-) Just an idea.
