tool to optimize websites

The need to speed up websites and optimize them has assumed importance more than ever .To increase hits and clicks your site must be able to arrive at the user’s browser much faster than mail :) .

But how do you know what makes your site load slower or what is that takes maximum resources and time for the user .

Pingdom gives you a set of tools that give out complete statistics of what goes in to your site’s loading time.

It displays all the files that a browser would download and also the size and loading time of the each file. All this put in together with a fantastic UI.

Now you can see which javascript is taking maximum time to load and which image is taking time.I for example reduced my blog’s load time from 6.2 seconds to 2.1 seconds and i found out what i should be doing by using pingdom and i figured out i was linking to a image from external website and also lots of unwanted plugins with javascript and my profile image which was at Freeshell.in .

Here is an example to what you can do

Here is the link to explore your site and optimize it .

Thanks to mediatemple ;) my blog is decent fast ,my college website takes almost 5 times my load :)

Hi Taggy, Read your writeup weeks back, about the plusmo cricket refreshing code.I had saved it somewhere . Can’t find it. I was wondering if the same technic could be used to view, running stock prices, as seen in bse site and ndtv. I’m an advocate and do not know much about all those codes. Please comment. Feby
