Open invitation

No party here :D . Ever since i got hooked on to the internet i have dreamt of putting together a web app myself.Lots of ideas have come in and gone but i have always wanted to do this one so badly in life :-) .

After so much i think i have this idea which i believe is good enough to be converted in to a web app or a startup .I would love to knit together a team and get working on it .Yeah its intended to be another social networking site .

If you would love to work with me then do mail me at theyaga[at]gmail[dot]com .

And why do you think iam posting it on the blog ?

Every idea needs funding and ofcourse team ,its difficult to find such a gang out in a college where you are taught on day one “Chase $ not dreams ” ,not one not two i have seen many leave up their interests and take up jobs that gets you only money .Nothing wrong with it but iam adamant enough :-) .

Ideal team would be one with loads of time ,so presumably a final year student ,someone who understands internet and social networking and yeah someone who loves to code for the fun of it .If you are then catch me theyaga[at]gmail[dot]com .

and yeah age,sex no bar :D

Hi,
I was browsing thro’ some blogs and found your open invitation. I’m a final yr engg student living in chennai.I’m int’d in doing the same..

I’d like to hear a few more details about the project.

Also, I read that you are gearing up for the CAT exams. I’m doing the same too. All the best!

Here is a bit of advice. A VC looks at three things before funding a start up in India.

1) The work cycle. The stages should be implementable in short span of times. Like say 3 months to implement the idea, 3 months to publicize the idea, three months to release the product. Something like that. If you can;t get the prototype in a matter of 3 months, then the VC will mostly not fund you.

2)Team. The team has to be in one place. Unlike other industries, like say Nike, where the design takes place in one place and the manufacturing in other place and the sales in other… in software start up, the team has to be close at one place.

3) Business model.

So best of luck with your start up!
